Editorial: The Kyiv Independent’s response to the New York Times editorial board
the New York Times editorial board argues that it’s too dangerous to assume that Ukraine can win the war. It says “Russia is too strong,” that Ukraine should make a “painful compromise” and give up some territories to Russia. The U.S. must understand the futility and stop “taunting” Russia, the editorial says. Meaning: Ukraine will lose anyway, stop helping it so it’s over faster.

Zelenskyy on rescue from Azovstal: Ukraine needs Ukrainian heroes alive
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that thanks to the actions of the Ukrainian military along with the negotiating team, ICRC and UN, Ukraine has undertaken a rescue operation aimed at saving the military personnel from Azovstal. 221 servicemen were taken to the territory temporarily occupied by Russia for further exchange. 53 seriously wounded soldiers had been taken to a hospital located in CADLR (certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions).
